Hilton Sedona Resort & Spa
Sedona, AZ

If you’re in the mood for a serene getaway the Hilton Sedona Resort & spa is a great one!

Chris and I decided to get some sun so we headed south in February for a quick rejuvenation after the busy holiday season and Seattle Wedding Show.  We flew into Phoenix and rented a car to drive north into Sedona.

The weather was beautiful!  It was clear, sunny and stayed around 70 degrees plus!  It took us about 90 minutes from the airport in Phoenix to the hotel in Sedona.  It’s a nice drive with great Southwest scenery.

We used Priceline.com for the first time ever and got a great deal on the hotel room (50% discount).  The room we had was a one-bedroom suite with a living room/dining area, large bathroom, separate bedroom, two televisions with in-room movies.  All of the rooms have a private patio or balcony.  We were on the first floor and had a private patio with a settee to sit and enjoy the view of the Red Rocks with a glass of champagne .

We were lucky enough to have a full moon the entire time!  The warm evenings were lighted brightly by the moon and stars.

The cascading pool is amazing.  The restaurant on-site has outdoor seating near one of the pools and more views!  They have a golf course and spa to pamper yourself.

Sedona is a very serene and peaceful place.  It’s known for it’s vortex’s and the energy they exude.  I know we felt something special as soon as we drove into town.

The Red Rocks surround the town and you can get maps of each one to plan your hikes.  A couple of them are pretty tame so you can get on top of one in minutes for breathtaking views and picture ops.  You can catch a helicopter for a Grand Canyon tour, go shopping in any one of the unique shopping areas, go horseback riding or just enjoy the weather.

There are so many awesome restaurants in Sedona, we sampled a few of the best they had to offer and were never disappointed.  Lucky for me there is more vegetarian cuisine available there so I was delighted to have many choices on the menus.  Everywhere we went was romantic and charming.

For the best breakfast anywhere go to the Coffee Pot restaurant.  They literally have 101 omelettes (other stuff too)!  The place was packed no matter what time of day it was!

The nightlife is fun too!  During the weekend there is dancing at several spots.  There’s a brewery where they have live music and right next to the Hilton Sedona was a Karaoke bar!  Since Chris and I are usually hosting karaoke, we don’t get to just “go do” karaoke.  We had a blast!  The host was fun and the bar staff and customers were pleasant.

On our last day there we were told where to visit the Sedona Stupa Park.  The stupa is a “36-foot structure that has been a beacon of hope and blessings for thousands of years”.  It is a Buddhist symbol and was quite an amazing site.  Apparently it has the same type of energy as the vortexes and is known for miracles.  We enjoyed being able to see such a unique structure in such a beautiful setting.

Although short in duration this trip was rejuvenating, relaxing and romantic.  It’s a great setting for a secluded feeling getaway!
